Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into an ethnically diverse family. The mother of her child is English and her father is Nigerian. She grew up on a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age 14. She pursued acting studies in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While at the academy, she appeared in several stage productions such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started acting in Storm Damage. In the years since, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe's debut film appearance was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Following this acclaim, she appeared as Elisha in her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured on six of the episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. In 2008, she was cast as Bambi who was the leading character on ITV2's show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was also a part of the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 when she appeared on the drama The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before being ended on The CW. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. The departure of Madekwe from the show was officially announced in May of 2013. After two years as the main character she was a guest in the first episode of season three. She starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem between 2014 and the year 2016. Then, in June of 2012 the actress married her long-time boyfriend actor Iddo Goldberg. They've worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also had a role alongside her in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was raised in a large family from Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents, Roy and Patty along with her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's sports brothers played baseball during summers and hockey during winters. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She was a dancer. So when she was just 2 1/2 years old, she began to take part in Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered a love for dancing after she started the Baby Ballet. Ashley was a professional dancer in all the major divisions until she finished high school. She was a competitor in ballet, jazz, tap, pointe and the acrobatics. The top soloist at major competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more were awarded to Ashley.
