sylvester stalloneSylvester Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 as Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. He is the older child of the Italian born Francesco "Frank" Stallone Jr hairdresser, as well as Jackie Stallone, an astrologer and dancer. Frank Stallone Sr, his younger brother is an actor musician and hairdresser. Because of complications during birth, Sylvester's left side was paralyzed. This gave him the now famous "snarling", slurred speech and distinctive look. Stallone was a part of his early years in foster homes because of the unstable parent-child relationship. The couple later split up. Stallone trained in drama at the American College in Switzerland before taking a flight to the University of Miami. Stallone left school to explore acting in New York City.
